Sheffield Lanes is a 20 lane bowling and entertainment center located in the Hopewell/Aliquippa Area, about 20 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. We feature DBA synthetic lanes, AMF pinspotters, and Accu-ScoreXL.
Sheffield Lanes was originally built as a 12 lane rubber band duck pin center about 1950. The additional eight 10-pin lanes were added in the late 50s and the rest of the center was converted to 10-pin.
The business was purchased from the original owner, John Yatson, in 1959 by Joe "Jo Dee" D'Agostino, Larry Turkovich and Lino Masciantonio. Lino left the business after a few years, and in 1996 Larry retired and Joe became the sole owner. Joe's son, Rick, and his wife, Jeannie, have been active in the business since 1996 and now own/operate it.
Extensive remodeling and upgrading took place in the center beginning in 2002. New lanes were installed, the front counter was moved to create a more open floor plan, the bathrooms were completely gutted and re-designed, and a locker area and vending area were created. If you haven't been here in awhile, stop in and take a look!!
The bar was completely remodeled in 2007 with French doors leading customers into the bowling theme lounge. Chairs upholstered with bowling shirts of our league members and bowling ball candles on the pin-deck tables create an inviting atmosphere to enjoy our large selection of beverages from beers to bourbons!! Along the back wall, don't be surprised to find a photo of your grandparents!
Rick re-opened Ricky Dee's Pizza (YES! the original from Glenwillard) in 2009, bringing back the legendary "Billie-Bub" super sub (italian hoagie), our famous Stromboli, the "Glenwilly" cheese steak, and of course, our world famous Pizza! We also added a few dee-licious new menu items!
The Fallout Shelter, our intimate music venue located on the lower level, opened in 2008 and continues to provide space for blues/rock jam nights and other events. The room is also available for rent.
In September of 2016, we opened our own Pro Shop, operated by Matt Mowad and Zach D'Agositno (Jo Dee's grandson). Now, our bowlers can get top notch bowling equipment and services right here in our building.
In 2018 and 2019, we made major changes to the right side of our building with the construction and opening of our beautiful outdoor covered Veranda, as well as an open air smoking deck, and two Bocce Courts. These areas create an area for outdoor summer fun here at the Lanes, and provide additional spaces for party events!
Please stop by and visit! We would love to see you!!
